SEAN STEVENS WINS ST
ANDREWS BOYS'
OPEN TOURNAMENT

Sean Stevens (Deeside), picture right from St Andrews Links Trust website, won the St Andrews Boys' Open tournament for the Merchants Cup. He beat John Burnett from Waterlooville, Hampshire by 2 and 1 in the final over the Old Course.
In the semi-finals, Sean beat James Byrd from Isleworth Country Club, United States by 4 and 3 while John beat Iain Finlay (St Andrews) by two holes.
In the boys' handicap tournament for the Murray Mitchell Trophy, Ewan Scott (St Andrews), playing off four, beat Tom Obergan (Gerrards Cross), also a four-handicapper, by one hole in the final.
In the semi-finals, Ewan beat three-handicapper S Howieson (Walton Heath) by 2 and 1. Obergan beat Robert Brown (Saltburn), playing off five, by one hole.
