After three missed cuts and a withdrawal, Simon Dunn, who has Scottish blood in his veins, is enjoying his outing at the SK Telecom Open in Seoul, South Korea.
This is a "diary page," written by Simon for the Asian Tour website:

DUBAI-BORN SCOT ENJOYING LIFE ON
THE ASIAN PGA TOUR

By Simon Dunn
I played poorly in the past four events. I hurt my back before the GS Caltex Maekyung Open. I actually injured my back at the Pine Valley Beijing Open. I pulled a muscle on the lower back and it ruined it for me basically. It is fine now but it is one of those things. It does not affect my game at all now. I did some physiotherapy and it’s back to normal, no pain at all.
I was born in Dubai in 1979 and have been living there ever since. My father was Scottish and my mom is Malaysian. I’m Scottish by default, I guess. I studied Sports Management and graduated from the Campbell University in North Carolina.
I graduated in 2002 and turned professional in the beginning of 2003. This is my fifth year as a professional and I’m enjoying my golfing career. My father passed away but my mom lives in Edinburgh. I’m now staying in Dubai with my wife.
Dubai is nice. There are several sand golf courses there which are fun to play. It is getting warm now but a nice place to be in. It is in between Europe and Asia.
This is my first full season on the Asian Tour and I’m enjoying the ride. The last three four tournaments hurt my ranking but if I pick up the pace this week, then maybe I might put myself back into position for the re-rank.
I didn’t play too well today which was difficult but hope to pick up some valuable money for the Asian Tour’s UBS Order of Merit. I was playing well the first two days but today I had to scramble. It was windy today at the BA Vista Country Club and difficult to control the ball.
When I’m not playing well, it is even harder to control the ball. One over today is not too bad but I hope to do better tomorrow.

My goal is to try and make sure that I make it into the top-60 on the UBS Order of Merit but I’ve left myself a lot of work to do. If I play well tomorrow, it will help towards that goal. I really want to finish in the top-60. In the second half of the year, I’ll find out really where I stand.
