BON ACCORD COME FROM BEHIND TO BEAT
MURCAR LINKS AND WIN MAITLAND SHIELD

Bon Accord scored a one-hole overall win over Murcar Links to win the City of Aberdeen foursomes for the Maitland Shield at East Aberdeenshire Golf Centre this evening.
Murcar Links, with a long history of success in foursomes events, looked set to have their named engraved on the Maitland Shield once again until Bon Accord turned the two-leg tie on its head over the last five holes.
Bon Accord’s Dave Grieve and Barrie Edmond finished five up on Murcar Links’ Anthony Bews and Neil McKinnon after a cluster of late wins.
In the second leg it was Murcar Links who had the dominant pairing but Bryan Innes and Terry Mathieson finished “only” four up on Graeme Somers and Matty Greig of Bon Accord – not enough to wipe out the five-hole lead established by the Bon Accord first string.
