JAMIESON MAKES CUT WITH STROKE TO
SPARE IN HOOTERS’ TOUR EVENT IN US


Scott Jamieson made the halfway cut with a stroke to spare in the NGA Hooters Tour’s Touchstone Energy Open at Brook Valley Country Club, Greenville in North Carolina.
The rookie pro from Glasgow had rounds of 73 and 71 – thanks to late birdies at the 14th and 15th, for a tally of level par 144 and joint 43rd position among the 64 qualifiers from a starting field of 168.
Ulsterman Gareth Maybin from Ballyclare qualified in joint 16th place with 72 and 69 for 141 – seven shots behind leader Aaron Wright from Orlando, with 70 and 64 for 10-under-par 134.
Wright leads by two from Irishman Chris Devlin, based in Birmingham, Alabama. Devlin has had a pair of 68s.
David Skinns from Lincoln and Colin Spiers of Dunkeld missed the cut at 145.
Skinns shot 73 and 77 for 150, Speirs 76 and 77 for 153.
First prize in the $200,000 satellite tour event is $33,566
