Banchory's James Byrne is tied for fifth place at the halfway stage of the Malaysia Championship at Sungai Buloh, Selangor.
He has had rounds of 71 and 66 for a seven-under-par tally of 137 - four behind the joint leaders from Thailand, Panuwat Muenlek (64-69) and Jakraphan Premsirigorn (68-65).
