Craig Ross leading Scot at Cape Province Open

Craig Ross shot a first-round, three-under-par 69 to be tied eighth at the end of the opening day in the Cape Province Open at George Golf Club, Kingswood Golf Estate in South Africa.

Jamie Stewart is T21 with a 71 and Craig Ross T32 with a par 72.
Liam Johnst5on shot a 73 for a T45 finish while Calum Fyfe and Scottish boys champion Eric Mcintosh both shot 74s to be T61 in a field of 191.
Ross, pictured, had a bogey-free round highlighted by birdies at the 14th, 15th and 17th.
Stewart, who had four birdies in a row from the fifth, took the shine off his card with bogeys at the 16th, 17th and 18th.
Frenchman Paul Margolis opened up a one-stroke lead with a seven-under-at 65.
