MONTY IN THE MOOD - LEADS WITH A 66

Colin Montgomerie had five birdies in an eight-hole stretch on the back nine, on his way to a 66 (-6) for a one-shot lead after one round of the Champions Tour's ACE Group Classic at Twin Eagles Golf Club, Naples, Florida.
The Scot, who did not play well last week, is followed by Tommy Armour III 67.
Defending champion Kirk Triplett and Lee Janzen are at 68.
Monty put himself in the mood by holing a 40ft birdie putt at his first hole. On the back nine, he birdied Nos. 10, 12, 13, 16 and 17.
Armour holed four putts of more than 12 feet, including a 40-footer at the sixth for one of his six birdies. He had a bogey at the 14th.
Paul Goydos, last week's US Champions Tour winner, was three shots back. Bernhard Langer, who had five victories last season, is five behind.
