SCOTS BOYS BEATEN IN EURO SEMI-

FINAL ... BUT IT WAS SO CLOSE

Scotland lost by the narrowest of margins - at the 20th hole in the tie-breaker - to Sweden in the semi-finals of the European boys' team golf championship at Oslo Golf Club, Norway today (Friday).
The Swedes will now play Italy in the final after the latter polished off England 5-2.
Scotland and England will play off for third place.
The Scots Under-18s had it all to do when they trailed 0-2 after the foursomes but
they pulled it back to 3-3 overall with wins by Robert MacIntyre, Ewen Ferguson and George Burns in the singles.
That mean Scotland's hopes rested on Ben Kinsley in the last match on the course.
Ben gave his all before losing at the 20th for Sweden to win 4-3.
