HOWITT MAKES DEBUT ON US COLLEGE CIRCUIT
Neil Howitt from Nairn, a freshman student at Davis & Elkins College in West Virginia, scored 75 and 84 on his debut on the American college golf ciruit this week.
Neil's 36-hole total of 159 over a 7,085yd, par-72 course at Clarion Oaks Golf Club, Pennsylvania in the Hal Hansen Invitational earned him a share of 32nd place in a field of 108 players.
Another Davis & Elkins College recruit from Britain, Thomas Parry from Goole, finished joint 56th on 162 with scores of 78 and 84.
Corey Gast (Millersville) was the individual winner with 73 and 74 for 147.
Davis & Elkins College (653) finished 16th of the 20 teams, 50 shots behind winners Clarion University, playing over their home course. Clarion won by 13 shots.
