The first four players in each team qualified from the World rankings and the other four from their standing in the European Order of Merit. The final line up of the 10-man teams will be announced at 11:00 tomorrow (18 September) by the respective captains Nick Faldo and Seve Ballesteros.

It means first time appearances in the event for England’s Graeme Storm, Oliver Wilson and Phillip Archer in the Great Britain & Ireland team and Finland’s Mikko Ilonen, Denmark’s Søren Hansen, Frenchman Grégory Havret and Austria’s Markus Brier in the Continental Europe team.

Confirmation of the qualifiers for the fifth edition of the event comes after the withdrawal of Open champion Padraig Harrington due to fatigue and injury, plus the earlier withdrawal of world ranked players Sergio Garcia, Luke Donald and Henrik Stenson.
Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter also declined to take part.

The Seve Trophy will be played over four days on The Heritage championship course, a course that Seve Ballesteros co-designed, between 27-30 September.
