SCOTS UNDER-16 BOYS COME
FROM BEHIND TO BEAT
NORTH OF ENGLAND 8-7

Scotland overcame a one-point foursomes deficit to beat North of England 8-7 in an Under-16 boys' international match at Northumberland Golf Club, Newcastle on Sunday.
Scotland's deficit had widened during the afternoon singles when the North of England led 7-3 with five matches to finish.
Wins by Colin Baird, Tom Blennerhasset and William Russell helped to turn the tide.
In the end all the pressure fell on the young shoulders of Chris Robb (Inchmarlo) and Daniel Young.
Robb, pictured right, and Jamie McDonald were all square after 16 holes. At the 17th, Robb holed an 8ft birdie putt to go one up and a half at the last was enough for victory to make it a 7-7 tie overall.
Young, in the last tie to finish, came back from two down at the 10th to win five of the next seven holes for a 2 and 1 trophy-clinching victory.
