SAM CAIRNS WINS £1,821 PRIZE FOR
7-UNDER PAR 64 AT PETERCULTER


Sam Cairns (Westerwood) shot what is believed to be a professional course record of seven-under-par 64 in winning the top prize of £1,821 in the Kippie Lodge pro-am at Peterculter Golf Club, near Aberdeen today.
Cairns' blemish-free round had birdies at the seventh, 12th, 13th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th in halves of 35 (one under par) and 29 (six under par).
He won by one stroke from Graeme Lornie (Aspire Golf Centre) who collected his biggest ever cheque for £1,450.
Former Walker Cup player Lindsay Mann (Kings Links) led "The Footballers" team of Joe Harper (handicap 13), Duncan Davidson (11) and Drew Jarvie (10) to victory with a net two-ball score of 121.
