DRUMMOND ONLY SCOT TO GET THROUGH
FINAL QUALIFYING FOR THE OPEN

Scott Drummond was the only Scot among the 12 players (three at each venue) who progressed from today's Local Final Qualifying to the Open championship field who will line up at Carnoustie a week on Thursday.
Amateurs apart, everyone who tees it up in the Open will receive a minimum payment of over £2,000.
As it turned out, three amateurs headed the qualifying field at Monifieth, saving the R&A more than £6,000, just like that.
Two men who have won the Open's silver medal for being the leading amateur in recent years, Lloyd Saltman (Craigielaw) and Stuart Wilson (Forfar) failed to make it to Carnoustie.
