BRAEHEAD AND ALVA DRAW BOYS' LEAGUE MATCH

By HUGH HUNTER
The wet weather has caused a backlog of matches in the Clackmannan County Boys Golf League, and the Junior Organisers will be making big efforts to play these matches during the school holidays.
However, one match that did go ahead last weekend was the critical tie between Braehead and Alva, the League leaders. Success in the league depends on good away results, and the Alva team (picture right, by Hugh Hunter) managed a draw a closely-fought match with all matches going to the last three holes.
BRAEHEAD 3, ALVA 3
(Braehead names first)
Scott Clark bt Gary Elliot 3 and 2.
John McPherson bt Lawrence Allan 1 hole.
Michael Barrett bt Daniel Ashe 2 and 1.
Jamie Pollock lost to Scott Thomson 2 and 1.
Gary Little lost to Martin Hall 3 and 2.
Steven Nicol lost to Adam Ashe 3 and 1.

As mentioned earlier, Jamie, Michael and Lawrence will all be featuring in the Scottish Under- 14s championships at Brunston Castle Golf Club, Ayrshire on Friday.
