TORPHINS STUDENT STEPHEN TIES

FOR SIXTH IN USA COLLEGE EVENT

Craig Stephen from Torphins, a third-year student at Brevard College, North Carolina, finished joint sixth in a field of 72 competitors at the University of Mount Olive's Spring Invitational college tournament at Walnut Creek Country Club, Goldsboro, North Carolina.

Stephen, pictured, had rounds of 73, 68 and 79 for a total of four-over-par 220 over a par-72 (7,021yd) course.

Brevard College team-mate, Calum McAndrew, a third-year student from Fife, finished T53 on 243 with disappointing rounds of 85, 77 and 81.

Nick Stafford (Belmont Abbey) was the individual winner by five shots with rounds of 76, 67 and 69 for four-under 212.
