Student from Nottingham helps McNeese State Cowboys fifth at LSU Tiger Classic
BATON ROUGE – Daniel O'Loughlin, a freshman from from Nottingham, scored rounds of 76 and 72 at the one-day, Tiger Golf Classic to lead McNeese State University as the Cowboys finished fifth in the seven-team tournament that was played at The University Club, Baton Rouge.
O'Loughlin tied for eighth on the individual leaderboard. LSU's Nathan Jeansonne won the individual title with a 9-under 135 after rounds of 67 and 68.
LSU won the event with a team score of 582 after rounds of 295 and 287.
McNeese posted a first-round team score of 306 followed by a 307 in the second round.
The Cowboys' Blake Elliot shot rounds of 77-77 to finish in a tie for 18th on the individual leaderboard with teammate Duncan McNeill from Annan. The Scot, pictured below, also shot a 154 total with rounds of 75-79.
This was the final regular season tournament for the Cowboys, who will next play to defend their Southland Conference title April 24-26 at the SLC Championships.
