Lawries beaten by two girls (receiving a lot of

shots) in Sunningdale Foursomes fourth round

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Paul Lawrie and his elder son Craig (21) found the task of conceding a lot of shots to Sweden's Linn Grant, daughter of a Scots-born pro over there, and England's Martha Lewis a bridge too far in the 83rd Sunningdale Foursomes at Ascot this morning..
Amateurs Linn and Martha, both playing off four under the
handicap rules of the tournament, won by one hole against the Lawries who were both playing off +1, again as stipulated by the Sunningdale Foursomes competition rules.
Linn won the Doral Publix Junior Open in Florida in late December while Martha, pictured, also a teenager and an England girl international, has a handicap of +0.5 at St George's Hill Golf Club.
Paul Lawrie tweeted later

"Both girls did really well , but 10 shots! Come on, Sunningdale!I'm an old man ...... really enjoyed the week."
