Paul Doherty, Cardiff-based Scottish boys' match-play champion at Dunbar in 2003,

shot a five-over-par 77 to be lying joint 22nd at the end of the first round of the MENA Tour's Royal Golf of Dar Es Salam Open at Rabat, Morocco.

Morocco's Faycal Serghini has a two-shot lead with a 69.

Doherty is the only Scot in the field.
