Iain Stewart leads in qualifying

for seniors' match-play

Ireland-based Scot Iain Stewart (The Curragh) led the field by three shots at Drumpellier Golf Club today in the first qualifying round of the Scottish seniors' match-play championship.
Stewart scored one-over-par 72 which was one under the CSS on a very windy and sometimes wet day.
Stewart lost a play-off to his namesake Bob Stewart (Tulliallan) for the Scottish senior amateurs' championship at Elgin in May.
Next best at the halfway stage today at Drumpellier was Derek Murphy (Kinross).
Only the leading 32 at the end of Tuesday's second round will go forward to the match-play stages at the same venue.
