Inverness man's continued success on Hooters Tour


KNOX WINS FISTFUL OF
DOLLARS AFTER RAIN
WASH-OUT IN GEORGIA

Florida-based Inverness exile Russell Knox finished joint third in the Hooters' Tour event, the ComSouth Classic, after rain washed out the third and final round (on Sunday) at Southern Hills Golf Club, Hawkinsville, Georgia.
Knox, who stayed on in America after four years playing on the US college golf circuit as a student at Jacksonville University, Florida, had rounds of 68 and 66 for a 10-under-par toal of 134, finishing three shots behind the winner of the $33,566 first prize, Andrew Medby from Alabama. He scored 62 and 69 for 13-under 131.
Knox earned $9,479, this third largest payday this year, boosting his earnings to $51,603 in 15 Hooters' Tour events since the end of February. He has missed three cuts.
