Scots carry on the good work in Turin

Scotland carried on where they left off at the end of a very good first day in the European men's amateur team championship at Royal Park Golf Club, Turin in Italy.
With Wallace Booth, Keir McNicoll and Paul O'Hara still to finish, the overall leadeboard had the Scots four shots clear of the field at 21 under par collectively (best five scores to count daily).
Sweden were next at 17 under par with Germany third best at 16 under par.
France, winners of the title last year at Western Gailes, looked as though they would be hard pushed to make the top eight qualifiers. They were on only one under par collectively in seventh place but with Ireland just behind them on level par, Finland two over par and Wales and Netherlands not all that far off that eighth spot on five over par.
Scotland's top-ranked Calum Macaulay (Tulliallan) followed up his seven-under-par 65 in the first qualifying round with a 70 to be sharing the individual lead with Spain's Jorge Campillo at nine-under-par 135. Campillo has scored 68 and 67.
Other Scotland individual scores:
140 Gavin Dear (Murrayshall) 70 70.
146 Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) 76 70.
To finish:
Wallace Booth (Comrie).
Keir McNicoll (Carnoustie)
Paul O'Hara (Colville Park).
