Anthony Bews beats Gary

Esson in Jaffray Cup final

Murcar Links' +3 player Anthony Bews won the North-east District match-play championship for the Jaffray Cup at Kemnay last night. He beat Gary Esson (Kemnay) by 3 and 1 in the final.
Bews, who works in Gary Forbes' professional's shop at Murcar Links, went one up by winning the second hole and was never behind after that.
Esson squared the contest at the eighth but Bews surged three up again with successes at the ninth, 10th and 11th.
Esson cut his deficit to two by winning the 14th but after two halves, Bews clinched the title by winning the 17th.
Final - A Bews (Murcar Links) bt G Esson (Kemnay) 3 and 1.
