Murcar Links player Anthony Bews will play Gary Esson of the host club at Kemnay tomorrow evening (Tuesday) at 5.45 in the final of the North-east District match-play golf championship for the Jaffrey Cup.
Bews qualified as the No 1 seed by winning the Morrison Trophy individual award in Sunday’s Journal Cup at the same venue. He had a pair of 68s for 136.
Former Newmachar professional Glen Taylor (Meldrum House) was the No 2 qualifier with 139, with Gary Esson, not to be confused with the Portlethen player of the same name, next on 140 and Andrew Campbell (Deeside) the last seed on 143.
In tonight's semi-finals, Bews beat Campbell by 3 and 2 while Esson beat Taylor by two holes.
