England name three boys for German

Billy Downing, Jack Heasman and Eddie Peters, all members of the England Under-16 squad, will represent the English Golf Union in the 54-hole Harder German Junior Masters at Heddesheim Gut Neuzenhof Golf Club in Heidelberg from August 5 to 7.
Downing, 16, the current Cornwall junior champion, finished runner-up in the English Under-14 championship for the Reid Trophy in 2003 when aged only 11 and was joint fourth in the Under- 16 championship two years later. The lad from Truro finished third in the Southwest boys' championship this year, having won the title in 2007. He has also been capped at Under-16 level against Scotland for the past two years.
Heasman, 15, was the Essex under 14 Champion in 2006 and Essex under 16 Captain last year. A newcomer to the England under 16 Squad this year, he was a member of one of the teams that finished joint winners of the Nations Cup in the recent McGregor Trophy.
Peters, 16, is the current Nottinghamshire Boys Champion having won a string of junior titles within his county in the past two years. He was Notts under 14 and under 16 Champion in 2006 while last year he won the Notts Youth and Boys match play Championships. He also finished sixth in the recent McGregor Trophy at High Post and was a member of one of the winning England Nation Cup teams in that event.
