A few dollars more for Russell

Knox on the Hooters Tour

Inverness exile Russell Knox, based at Jacksonville Beach, Florida, finished joint 29th in the latest NGA Hooters Tour event, the Onion Creek Classic at Austin, Texas.
Knox had scores of 68, 69, 71 and 64 for an eight-under-par total of 272. His six-under-par final round significantly improved his overnight 55th position and earned him $1,609.

South African-born Dawie Van Der Walt, a graduate of Lamar University, won the $33,566 first prize in the Onion Creek Classic over a 6,351yd par-70 course, with scores of 68, 64, 65 and 66. Emmett Turner achieved the same 17-under-par total of 263 with scores of 66, 64, 69 and 64 but lost a play-off at the first hole and had to settle for the runner-up prize of $16,671.
Ian Parnaby from Durham, England came joint 17th on 270 with scores of 66, 68, 68 and 68 and earned $2,292.
