Big rain delay at Moortown, Leeds on

David Blakeman (Jura Golf Park) set the early pace on the resumption of play at Moortown Golf Club, Leeds after a torrential downpour had earlier forced play to be suspended after less than an hour of the start of the first round of the Glenmuir PGA Professional Championship.
In all, play was delayed for 2hr 40min.
Blakeman, a Germany-based pro, birdied the par-5 first, added a second at the 175yd par- 3 fourth, but leaked a shot at the fourth to lie at one under par after five holes.
Blakeman was joined at one under by Simon Brown (Rhein Sieg), Robert Giles (Greenore) and PGA Cup player Andrew Barnett (North Wales Golf Club) who all birdied the first.
