Winner Lunde says year out from golf

has given him new perspective

Bill Lunde holed a 30ft chip for a last-hole birdie to win the US Nationwide Tour's Children
Hospital Invitational tournament at Columbus, Ohio on Sunday.
On a last day when nobody seemed capable of mounting and sustaining a winning charge from behind, Lunde signed off with a two-over-par round of 73 for a five-under total of 279 over the Scarlet Course at Ohio University. It earned him $135,000.
Lunde took a year out from golf last year and he says it has worked wonders for him.
“The time I took away from golf gave me a new perspective on working, and how fortunate we are to play golf for a living,” he said. “It’s a special thing we get to do so I appreciate it a lot more than I used to.”
Dustin Bray (69) finished a shot back at 280 and Tommy Tolles (69) was in a three-way tie at 281 with Skip Kendall and Brendon De Jonge.
Lunde entered the final round with a one-shot lead over Scott Gardiner and Josh Broadway, who both shot 75s to fall out of contention.
