Adrian Donkersley made the long journey from Buckinghamshire a worthwhile one when he led the field with a one-under-par 68 at the end of the first day of the South of Scotland seniors open amateur stroke-play championship at Dumfries & County Golf Club today.
Gerrards Cross member Donkersley led by one shot from Kenneth Russell (Wigtown & Bladnoch) and Haddington's George Blair.
