Sorry our service of other events this weekend is suffering from our presence at the Curtis Cup but here are some details from the big men's amateur event this weekend, the Bidwells Scottish open amateur stroke-play championship at The Duke's Course, also at St Andrews.

DEFENDING CHAMPION McALPINE MISSES
ONE-ROUND CUT IN STROKE-PLAY

Defending champion Hamish McAlpine (Alyth) was the biggest name among those who were eliminated after only one round of the Bidwells Scottish men's open amateur stroke-play championship over The Duke's Course.
Fog forced the cancellation of play on Friday and the field was cut to the leading 40 and ties after one round on Saturday - the qualifiers going on to play two rounds on Sunday.
