Andrew Coltart seeking confidence
boost with high finish

From Steve Todd, Challenge Tour Press Officer
Former Ryder Cup player Andrew Coltart goes into the final round of the Oceânico Group Pro-Am Challenge hoping for a high finish to boost his confidence after playing himself into contention with a four under par round of 66.
The Scot is playing at the European Challenge Tour event in an attempt to rediscover his form, a week after teeing up at the European Tour’s flagship event, the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club.
Coltart, who finished seventh in the European Tour Order of Merit in 1996 and played at the 1999 Ryder Cup, is currently ranked 641 in the world but hopes his consistency so far at Marriott Worsley Park Hotel & Country Club this week can kick start his season.
His 66 today, which contained five birdies and only one dropped shot on the par three ninth hole, followed rounds of 65 and 68 and means he is ideally positioned on 11 under par to mount a final round challenge.
Coltart said: “I’ve been picking up birdies and picked off my chances. I’ve just played sensibly this week and taken advantage of the par fives.
“There is a quality field here this week and I’m looking to take a step in the right direction. It would be good to get some confidence from here through finishing four rounds and playing consistently.
“I’m looking for a good finish and maybe to pick up some World Ranking points. I haven’t got a plan for the season at the moment but the Challenge Tour is one way of getting my card back for the European Tour.
“It’s getting congested at the top of the leaderboard so hopefully I can pick up some birdies tomorrow and see what happens.”
