SCOTS DOWN THE FIELD IN SOUTH CAROLINA


Craig Galloway from West Lothian, a third-year student at Brevard College, North Carolina, finished joint 28th in a field of 90 for this week's Jack Shadwick Invitational college golf tournament at Cross Creek Plantation Golf Club, Seneca in South Carolina.
Craig had rounds of 76 and 78 for a total of 154 over a 6,875yd course with a par of 71.
Team-mates Grant Carnie from Ellon, a second-year student, and Myles Johnston, a third-year man from Bo'ness, tied for 63rd and 68th places respectively.
Carnie had rounds of 83 and 79 for 162, Johnston 81 and 84 for 165.
Nathan Irvin (North Greenville University) was the individual winner by six strokes with an eight-under-par total of 134 (66-68).
Brevard College (636) finished 15th of 18 in the team event won ty North Greensville with a total of 576.
