DANIEL AND NEIL DOWN THE FIELD IN
COKER COLLEGE TOURNAMENT
Daniel Sommerville from St Andrews and Neil McBride of Glasgow, both students at Clayton State University, Atlanta, finished joint 70th and 77th respectively in a field of 105 for the Coker College Invitational tournament at Orange County National Golf Club, Orlando in Florida this week.
Daniel scored 74 and 76 for a total of 150 over the 6,849, par-72 course. Neil had rounds of 78 and 74.
In a quality college golf tournament, Chris Wolfe (Armstrong Atlantic) and Matt Smith (St Edwards) tied on 10-under-par 134 for individual honours. Both players had superb scores of 68 and 66.
St Edwards (562) won the team title ahead of Florida Southern (567) with Barry (573) third. Clayton State (584) finished 11th in a field of 21 college teams.
