TOUR QUALIFYING SCHOOL
ELIMINATOR IN TEXAS
Florida-based Russell Knox from Inverness leads the field of 74 at the halfway stage of a US PGA Tour Qualifying School preliminary eliminator at Cypresswood Golf Club, Spring in Texas.
Scotland youth international Knox, pictured right, who turned professional earlier this summer in the States after four years as a golf scholarship student at Jacksonville University, Florida, has had rounds of 66 and 65 for a 36-hole tally of 13-under-par 131. He is seven under par for the four par-5 holes on the course and leads by two shots from American Cole Isban (66-67).
The leading 37 players and ties at the end of 72 holes will go forward to the next stage of the US PGA Tour qualifying process.
