LUKE DONALD AND JUSTIN ROSE COMING
OVER FOR DUNHILL LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP

England’s leading tour professionals, Luke Donald and Justin Rose, are the latest to confirm they are to play in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at Carnoustie, Kingsbarns and St Andrews from October 4-7.
Donald has never won a European Tour event in the UK, and Rose has not won in this country for five years.
Uniquely the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship has been won by a player from the United Kingdom or Ireland every year since its inception, so Donald and Rose will be hoping this is the moment their luck will change.
They head a strong line-up of the world’s top 25 players which includes South Africa’s popular World No 4 Ernie Els, Paul Casey, Niclas Fasth, Trevor Immelman, plus Open champion Padraig Harrington, who will be bidding to win an unprecedented third Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Also in the field will be Colin Montgomerie, winner in 2005, along with favourites Jose Maria Olazabal, Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood, Michael Campbell, the 2005 US Open champion, Steve Elkington, winner of the 1995 US PGA championship and six-time major championship winner and current Ryder Cup captain, Nick Faldo.
With a prize fund of US$5 million, it incorporates two separate competitions - an individual professional tournament for the world's leading golfers and a team event in which they are paired with some of the most celebrated amateur golfers.
Among the amateurs who played last year were Marcus Allen, the celebrated US NFL running back, Sir Ian Botham, Sir Bobby Charlton, legendary footballer Johan Cruyff, Morné du Plessis, actor Hugh Grant, Ruud Gullit, Dennis Hopper, Ronan Keating, world champion skier Franz Klammer, actor and TV star Kyle MacLachlan, actor Bill Murray, Sir Steve Redgrave, Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres and Steve Waugh.
Entrance to the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship will be FREE at all three courses on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. A ticket price of £15 (concessionary £10) will be charged for the final day’s play over the Old Course on Sunday, October 7.
Entry for under 16s and students is free. Tickets are available through the ticket hotline on 0870 010 9021 or at the entrance gates.
There is free parking for spectators and a free shuttle bus service will be in operation between the courses on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
