BANCHORY BOY MAKES
TOP 10 IN TEXAS

Scott Larkin from Banchory, a third-year student at the College of Charleston, South Carolina, finished joint eighth in a field of 60 for the Texas Cup college golf tournament at Texas Golf Club, Austin yesterday (Tuesday).
Larkin, pictured right, who is 6ft 2in tall, had rounds of 71 and 74 for a three-over-par total of 145 over a long course (7,389yd) with a tough par of 71.
Ken Looper (New Orleans University) won with scores of 71 and 68 for 139. Runner-up was Bobby Hudson (Texas) with 73 and 69 for 142.
New Orleans beat UT-Arlington in a play-off for the team title after they had both finished on 582 - nine shots ahead of third-placed Texas.
College of Charleston (598) finished third in a field of 11 teams.
