GARY ESSON BEATS NE
ALLIANCE FIELD OF 96
AT KEMNAY WITH
ONE-UNDER-PAR 70

Portlethen +2 amateur Gary Esson, pictured right, bogeyed two of the last three holes but still beat a field of 96 at today’s North-east Alliance competition at Kemnay Golf Club.
Esson’s 70 was the only round under the par of 71 and he was annoyed that his late slips cost him an even better score. An eagle 3 at the 502yd 15th was the highlight of his halves of 35 (one under par) and 35 (level par).
Esson also had birdies at the fourth, eighth and 11th. and bogeys at the third, 10th, 16th and 18th.
He won by a single shot from Tartan Tour professional Graeme McInnes (Murcar Links) and two amateurs, Stewart Finnie (Caledonian) and home club player Craig Carnegie.
Andrew Campbell (Deeside), who tied for fifth place with Mackenzie Club professional Colin Nelson on 72, had the best inward half of the day - 32.
