RHYS DAVIES SHARES TOUR SCHOOL STAGE
1 LEAD AT ST ANNES OLD LINKS

Edinburgh-born Walker Cup player Rhys Davies, now a professional, shared the lead on five-under-par 67 with Ireland's Alan Murray at the end of the first round of the European Tour Qualifying School Stage 1 eliminator over 72 holes at St Annes Old Links.
Only the leading 32 and ties after four rounds will go forward to Stage 2 at Spanish venues.
South Wales-based Jack Doherty, a regular on the PGA EuroPro Tour and Tartan Tour stalwart Jason McCreadie did best of the Scots. They are sharing third place on the 68 mark.
Craig Lee, Elliot Saltman and Edward Thomson are joint 11th on 69.
