PORTLETHEN PIP MURCAR
LINKS FOR JOURNAL CUP

Portlethen, the host club, pipped Murcar Links by one stroke for the Journal Cup - the North-east District's inter-club team championship, with a total of 443.
The tournament should have been played in early July but was washed out and rearranged for today.
Portlethen's winning team were Gary Esson, C Brechin and L Shand.
The top four individual aggregates were returned by Mark Halliday (Royal Aberdeen) 142, Barrie Edmond (Bon Accord) 145, Bryan Innes (Murcar Links) 145 and Gary Esson (Portlethen) 145.
They will contest the NE District match-play championship for the Jaffrey Cup, also at Portlethen.
Monday evening ties are: Halliday v Innes, Esson v Edmond.
