MARK McLEAN BEATS JORDAN FINDLAY
IN BUCHAN FIRKIN PLAY-OFF

Fraserburgh Golf Club greenkeeper Mark McLean won the prestigious 36-hole open tournament for the Buchan Firkin over his home course - but only after a play-off.
McLean and former British boys champion Jordan Findlay, also a Fraserburgh member, tied on 146. McLean had two rounds of 73, Findlay a 76 and 70.
In squally conditions, Jordan's 70, to make up a three-shot leeway on Mark, was a brilliant effort.
McLean won the sudden-death play-off with a birdie 3 at the first hole.
Gordon Smith (Fraserburgh) and Ross McKen (Newburgh) finished joint third on 148 and Andrew Ironside, also of the home club, came next on 149.
The best two net aggregates were returned by visitors. Mark Steele from Harwood Golf Club, Bolton won with a net total of 140 off five. G Leslie (Royal Montrose), also playing off five, had a net total of 142.
Reid (5) and J Duff (1) came next on net 146 and A Wiseman jun (6) finished on 147.
