GAVIN DEAR MOVES UP TO SHARE
10TH PLACE IN CHIBERTA G P

Perth golfer Gavin Dear, pictured right, has moved up to joint 10th position at the halfway stage of the Chiberta Grand Prix open amateur tournament at Chiberta Golf Club, Bordeaux in southwest France.
Dear, a member of Murrayshall Golf Club, has had rounds of 70 and 69 for a three-under-par tally of 139 - nine shots behind the leader, Englishman Luke Goddard.
Goddard had an incredible nine-under-par second round of 63 for 130 and a five-shot lead over the international field.
Another Englishman in the top 10 is Mile Mackman in joint fifth place on 138 after a second-round 70.
Ross Kellett from Colville Park, Motherwell and the third player sent on the all-expenses-paid French trip, Gordon Yates (Hilton Park) are sharing 41st place on 145. Kellett has scored 73 and 72, Yates 72 and 73.
The 72-hole tournament ends on Sunday.
