NICOLL, JACK DOHERTY LEAD SCOTTISH
CHALLENGE ON PGA EUROPRO TOUR

Callum Nicoll from Prestwick and South Wales-based Glaswegian Jack Doherty are the leading Scots in joint sixth place after 36 holes of the Stoke by Nyland PGA EuroPro Tour championship in Essex.
Nicoll has had a pair of 71s for two-under-par 142 and must be rueing a double bogey 6 at the second hole today. He had six birdies on his card.
Doherty has also marked up two rounds of 71 but he had a double-bogey 5 at the short 11th in his second round. Doherty has had one bogey and one double bogey in 36 holes - pretty consistent scoring.
Chris Campbell and Graham Gordon are joint 25th on 146. Campbell improved from 75 (which included two double bogeys) to 71 while Gordon slumped from 71 to 75 with a double bogey 7 at the long fifth.
The only other Scot to survive the two-round cut at 148 was Lee Harper, the former Scottish boys' match-play champion from Musselburgh, now attached to Archerfield Links. Lee had scores of 75 and 73 to qualifying in joint 43rd place.
Alasdair Hay (Royal Winchester) missed out by one with 75 and 74 for 149 while South Wales-based Paul Doherty, a past Scottish boys' match-play champion, was a non-qualifier with 79 and 71 for 150.
Irishman Michael McDermott (Stackstown) leads the field on five-under-par 139 with 72 and 67.
