BAIN JOINS TEAM TO
PROMOTE DUBAI AS
GOLFING DESTINATION

Golf in Dubai has signed Dubai-based Scot Ross Bain as one of its newest global ambassadors to promote the emirate's golf courses on the world stage.
Bain, now 31, has been a well-respected name on the Asian Tour since he finished runner-up in the 2001 Indian Open.
Ross was born at Dunfermline but has lived in Dubai since he was seven.
"It's a great honour and privilege to represent Golf in Dubai and be part of a team which consists players of the statures of Ernie Els, Mark O'Meara, Colin Montgomerie, Henrik Stenson, Thomas Bjorn, Lee Westwood, Jeev Milkha Singh and revered Peter Cowen as their global ambassadors," said Bain.
"Dubai has always been close to my heart and this is the place where I grew up, learning the basics of the game. I have seen how the city has progressed over the years as one of the most sought-after golf and lifestyle destinations. Everything about Dubai has got excellence written on it.
"Events like the Dubai Desert Classic which each year attracts virtually the who's who of international golf have contributed immensely to the growth of game in Dubai, in particular. I too took to golf inspired by exploits of top players at the Classic," said Bain who had won every amateur tournament in the UAE before turning professional in 1998.
"We welcome Ross on board. He is a great talent and his qualification for the 2007 Bristish Open just proves that he will go places," said Mohamed Buamaim, vice-chairman & CEO of Golf in Dubai – the promoters and organisers of world-class events like the Dubai Desert Classic and the Dubai Ladies Masters.
