"The New Number One in Spain"

HACIENDA DEL ALAMO
GOLF RESORT SPONSORS
THE GOLF CHANNEL

The leading new golf resort in Spain, Hacienda del Alamo, is to sponsor Europe’s golf channel GOLF TV.
It’s the first time an individual resort has ever secured such a deal. From tomorrow, for the next six months, all of the prime-time programming on the channel will carry the Murcia resort’s branding and logo along with a strong advertising presence
Hacienda del Alamo Golf Resort has been widely acclaimed as “the new number one in Spain”. Set in 550 hectares in Murcia, it boasts a fabulous Dave Thomas-designed championship golf course which, at 7,400yd, is the longest in Spain.
When completed the luxury resort will have close to 4,000 villas, 400 apartments, a five-star hotel and spa plus a second golf course. Last month it broke all records by selling 100 apartments worth a total of €27 million in just 10 days.
Announcing the tie-up with Golf TV, Hacienda del Alamo's Glasgow-born Director of Communications Chris Mann commented:
“We are delighted to be associating Hacienda del Alamo with The Golf Channel in this unique deal, which has only recently become possible due to a relaxation of television regulation. We have advertised with the channel before to great success and so the natural progression was to move to sponsorship.
"We believe that this campaign will significantly increase our awareness amongst the many golfers across Europe who wish to invest in property at a luxury golf resort like ours.”
To support its six-figure sponsorship deal, Hacienda del Alamo has commissioned a series of eight adverts from leading UK production company Equinox-TV which will begin airing tomorrow. The adverts carry the slogan “an investment to appreciate”.
Hacienda del Alamo's Director of Golf, Billy Sim, is also a Scot, from the North-east.

The Golf Channel
Was Europe’s first 24-hour golf channel when launched in November 2003. On Sky Digital Channel 423 it is distributed to 8.4 million homes and is now owned by JJB Sports, the UK’s largest sports retailer and a member of the FTSE 250. An estimated 1.1million golfers have tuned in to The Golf Channel which is available free-to-air and unencrypted so wider distribution and availability is possible.
