CHRIS BARON SEVEN OFF PACE IN MICHIGAN
Oldmeldrum's Chris Baron was in joint 46th position at the end of the first round of the NCAA Division 2 men's golf championship at The Meadows Golf Club, Allendale in Michigan. Baron, a freshman student at Belmont Abbey College, North Carolina, had a five-over-par score of 76 over the 6,992yd course. He had one birdie, at the short 13th, and six bogeys to be seven shots behind the leader, Jarin Todd (Sonoma State University).
Belmont Abbey College were lying in joint 10th position of 20 teams.
