ZACH JOHNSON WINS THE MASTERS
Who would have thought that one of Tiger Woods' team-mates from the beaten 2006 United States Ryder Cup team would hold the favourite at bay and win the Masters - Zach Johnson's first Major victory and only his second on the US PGA Tour - by two shots.
Johnson produced the birdies down the home straight that put daylight between him and the opposition, finishing with a 69 for 289 - one over par.
Woods and a pair of South Africans, Retief Goosen and Rory Sabbatini finished joint second on 291.
A gallant Justin Rose, there or thereabouts from Day 1, finished a creditable joint fifth with a 73 for 292.
Padraig Harrington was joint seventh with a 73 for 293 and Paul Casey and Luke Donald gave GB&I two more finishers in the top dozen.
