2007 SCOTTISH UNIVERSITIES GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS

SPONSORED BY VISION OUTSOURCING
MORAY GOLF CLUB, LOSSIEMOUTH
1ST – 6TH APRIL 2007
Individual Strokeplay Championships

Colin Colraine (Strathclyde University) led from start to finish in winning the Vision Outsourcing Scottish Universities Men’s Individual title. Played over 36 –holes on each of the new and old courses at Lossiemouth in near perfect conditions, Colraine fired rounds of 64, 75, 70 & 75 to finish on a +2 total of 284, 1 shot ahead of Dixon and 4 shots ahead of Steven Hume (Abertay). Colraine’s birdie on the second-last hole moved him out of reach from his last group playing partner Hume, and his controlled par on the last hole ensured his victory in a highly competitive event.
The women’s championship was also a closely fought event also. The tournament went to the last hole where all 3 players in the final group had a chance to win. Abertay’s Kerri Harper produced an excellent up & down on the 18th green of the Moray Old to finish one shot ahead of Rachael Cassidy (Stirling) with Robert Gordon’s Laura Murray 2 shots further back.
