Paul McKechnie spreadeagled the field with a one-under-par round of 71 in testing windy conditions for the Kingsbarns Links Young Professionals’ Championship today.
McKechnie won the £513 top prize by four strokes despite a double bogey 6 at the 17th
The Braid Hills player, starting at the 10th, had birdies at the 10th, 11th, 16th, fourth and sixth. Apart from his 6 at the 17th, Paul dropped shorts at the third and eighth.
Kenny Monaghan (Bothwell Castle) was runner-up on 75, a stroke ahead of joint third placed James McGhee (Turnhouse) and David Orr (East Renfrewshire).
Henry Barton (Crieff) had a hole in one at the 190yd second hole.
