MARRIOTT ST PIERRE
FOR CHAMPIONSHIP
The Celtic Pro Tour, the new development golf tour which has grown from last year’s inaugural Dragon Tour, has announced the date and venue of its 2007 Tour Championship.
The 54-hole event will take place over three days on Wednesday 17th, Thursday 18th and Friday 19th of October at the Marriott St Pierre.
“It was imperative that the venue for our first ever tour championship reflected the quality of the tour itself,” said Rhydian Thomas, Celtic Pro Tour’s chief executive. “The Marriott St Pierre is a fantastic course, is well situated and fits in perfectly with our strategy.
“We’d like to thank Director of Golf Ben Laing for showing his faith in us and we look forward to working with him and his colleagues throughout the summer in the lead-up to the championship.”
A new event has been added to the Tour, with the Carmarthen Bay Open taking place at Machynys Peninsula Golf and Country Club on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th June
Professionals who would like to join the Celtic Pro Tour, can still do so. Annual membership to the Tour costs £175, while entry to each of the 36-hole events is £99. Winning prize money at each 36-hole event is guaranteed to be at least £1,000.
Entry to the Tour Championship costs £149 for professionals, with the level of prizemoney increasing to at least £2,000 to the winner.
