SUMMERS LEADS WAY WITH 79
MARY BACK IN SPOTLIGHT AS  WINNER
OF NORTHERN OPEN AT  CARNOUSTIE
Six times Angus women’s county champion Mary  Summers (Carnoustie Ladies) won the Carnoustie Rosebowl for the lowest scratch  score in Saturday’s Northern Ladies Open golf tournament over the Carnoustie  championship course.
Mary, a former British girls championship  finalist at Edzell, shot a 79 – matching the CSS for the tournament – to win by  one shot from young Katy McNicoll, also a Carnoustie Ladies member and recently  returned from her first year at Lynn University, Baton Rouge in  Florida.
