WEST DUNBARTONSHIRE COUNCIL PRO-AM

 

VICTORY BOOST FOR COLIN GILLIES

 

Colin Gillies (Kingfield) scored his first win on the Tartan Tour circuit since a back injury threatened to curtail his golf career when he squeezed home by a shot in the West Dunbartonshire Council pro-am over the Dalmuir municipal course today.

Gillies shot a round of one-under-par 66 to win the £976 top prize with birdies at the second, seventh, 10th, 12th and 16th and bogeys at the 11th, 14th, 15th and 17th.

Joint runners-up on 67 were Campbell Elliott (Haggs Castle) and Kenny Walker (Castle Park).

Garry Harvey (Bearsden Golf Range) led the “Dalmuir Rejects” trio of J Gallagher (7), G McGee (11) and T Dryburgh (16) to victory in the team event with a net score of 17-under-par 50.
